Accra is a city bursting with color and expression; unassumingly drawing attention to itself through architecture and nature that has existed for longer than I have.

As I explored the streets of Accra for the second time, I was once again deeply inspired by the minimalism surrounding me.

Just like it's people it is vibrant and a little rough around the edges, with overlooked beauty hidden in every alleyway and on every colorful wall.

I find joy in taking notice of overlooked corners and crevices— of photographing places that might never have been glanced at before.

Extraordinarily Ordinary.

I read this phrase once somewhere and it has stuck with me ever since. I love the play on words— and the idea that seemingly mundane and normal objects or moments can hold a magic of their own.

But it is up to us— the explorers, the artists, the passersby— to take notice of that magic.

In Accra I found magic everywhere.

I found it in lush plants...

and vivid walls,

in striking contrast and

clear blue skies.

My attention was drawn to lines and shapes, order and symmetry.

I found myself mesmerized by the warm colors lacking back home.

Pops of color and pattern against white walls often caught my eye,

and bright green flora against a vibrant wall never cease to inspire me.

This trip to Accra I once again fell in love with the city, along with the help of a lens; I love showing off the beauty of a place so far away and unimaginable for many people back home.

Through my photographs I hope only to entice my audience—

I wish to inspire and to instill wonder,

to connect through visuals,

and to encourage everyone to view the world as art.

Anywhere we go there are visuals waiting to be captured, corners waiting to be explored, and magic waiting to happen.

Thank you for believing in mine—
